Damn Near Made It: MC Tree’s Artist Portrait
Chicago rapper MC Tree and Chicago film group Kinfolk Collective have teamed up to work on the first piece for Kinfolk’s “Artist Portrait” documentary series in preparation for Tree’s end of year mixtapes Trillin, Tree Featuring The City, and the iTunes release Soul Trap. Tree’s Artist Portrait, titled “Damn Near Made It”, features behind the scenes footage, unreleased music, and exclusive interviews exploring the life of Chicago’s most critically acclaimed rapper of 2012. The film will explore the past, present, and future for Tree and give fans and critics an in depth look into the mind and creative process of “the city’s greatest rising talent” (Andrew Nosnitsky, MTV Hive). The Artist Portrait will be available in full online Fall 2012.

The Boy Illinois – Inhale Pt. 4: Horai Documentary Video
Chi-town lyricist The Boy Illinois has teamed up with music website DJBooth to bring listeners Inhale Pt. 4: Horai, the fourth and final entry of his Inhale mixtape series. Named after Greek goddesses who controlled the flow of time, Horai features 16 all original records divided into movements representing the seasons of the year. Joining The Boy Illinois throughout the project is a bunch of fresh talent including Goozy G of TCU, Mike Classic, Young General, G.o.D Jewels, and more.

UNC Graduate Johanna Contreras Decided To Film A Mini Documentary On Mario Farrow, also known as “SkyBlew”. The 20-year-old Hip Hop emcee from Alabama. He was in and out of foster homes but never let his past keep him down instead he turn to rap and music as an outlet to his experiences. He is currently attending the Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham where he is studying web design, but his real passion is in music. He aspires to use his lyrics as a way to inspire others to follow their dreams and to think about life. “I paint the sky blew that’s what I do,” he says.
