DJ/producer Quickie Mart and singer/songwriter/musician Jes Hudak together form Bang You’re Dead, presenting the music video for “Alive”, shot by Michael Stine. New Orleans-raised Los Angeles resident Quickie Mart produced three volumes of the Haze Diaries mixtape series with East Coast emcee Gotham Green, and is prepping for Beatport’s November 7 release of his Space Monkey Radio EP, five artist-approved dubstep remixes of tracks from Freddie Gibbs, Ricky B, Slightly Stoopid and more. Jes was introduced to the world via her stint on Bravo’s reality show Platinum Hit, and has been recognized by Billboard, AOL, ISSA and the LA Music Awards for her talent. Her most recent release is last year’s National Holiday EP.
Chicago hip-hip artist The Boy Illinois will be a featured opening act for Atlantic Records artist Maino on Thursday, October 6 at Santos Party House in New York City. Produced by Midas Management, the concert will also feature performances by Iron Solomon, Mr. Mecc and Gist the Essence, with DJ sets by Max Carnage (PNC Radio), Whutevva (Power 105.1FM) and, Sammy Needlz (Sirius XM Shade 45).
The up-and-coming MC has been making waves in mainstream media during the past few weeks with appearances on XXL, MTV, Sirius XM and Thisis50. One of the most memorable being his appearance on MTV’s Rapfix Live First Anniversary Show during which he proved exactly why he was one of the ‘Get in the Game‘ artists invited back, with a freestyle during a cipher amongst Lloyd Banks, Jim Jones and coincidentally Maino.
Though recent media attention has introduced new ears to the rapper’s undeniable talent, The Boy Illinois is no stranger to the music blogosphere, and has been featured on hundreds of music websites and blogs during the past 3 years since the release of his first mixtape Inhale Pt. 1: State Representative.
